Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, travel advice and vaccinations, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses offer appointments for long-term health conditions such as asthma and diabetes; cervical smears; smoking cessation; cryotherapy treatment (wart clinic) and health promotion.

To make sure that we provide the correct appointment length and to help the Practice Nurse prepare for your appointment, the receptionist may ask you for some additional information. Please help us to provide the right appointment for you by giving additional information if we ask for it.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Please make an appointment with the HCA for all routine blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, ECG, height, weight and urine checks.
